Shilajit literally  means “winner of Rocks”. It is also interpreted as the “Destroyer of Weakness and the Builder of Strength” .Shilajit, the miracle of Himalayas, is found in the pristine mountains of Nepal. In the summer months baking under the hot sun, the mineral pitch oozes from cracks and fissures of the rocky landscape as Shilajit. Shilajit has been used to treat a variety of diseases in Ayurveda. In Charaka(200 BC) and SusrutaSamhita (200 AD). It has been described as a panacea as well as RASAYANA (rejuvenative) which can cure all ailments and prolongs the life.Recent studies have revealed Shilajit is naturally adorned with several medicinal properties. The natural elixir has an adaptogenic property which increases the cells ability to absorb nutrients including many important trace elements. Moreover, it is proved to be as an antioxidant which counteracts free radicals. Similarly, It has many beneficial effects in human systems and helps to maintain the homeostasis in body.

As Shilajit is extremely hygroscopic, most of the times additives or filler substances  are added in powdered forms that helps keeping it as powder. Triphala is an Ayurvedic herbal rasayana churna consisting of equal parts of three myrobalans, taken without seed:  Amalaki (Phyllanthusemblica), Bibhitaki (Terminaliabellirica), and Haritaki(Terminaliachebula).

Triphala churna is a mild laxative, which cleanses and tonifies the gastro-intestinal tract. It is made from the three most important herbs in Ayurveda: Amalaki (EmblicaOfficinalis), Haritaki (TerminaliaChebula), and Vibhitaki (TerminaliaBellirica). Triphala is known as a cleaning agent, including a blood cleanser. The herb also has a high nutritional value, including high levels of vitamin C. Because of its high vitamin content, Triphala is often used as a food supplement like vitamins. In fact, the benefits of this herb are so well known that a well known Indian saying goes like this: "You do not have a mother? Don't worry, as long as you have Triphala in your life!". In recent years, a number of research studies have found new uses for this herb, including treatment for various forms of cancer. It is also found to have high antioxidant qualities, and is even useful for treatment against noise and stress induced conditions.


Ayurvedic Energetics: Rasa (taste): bitter, salty, pungent, astringent

Virya (action): heating

Vipaka (post-digestive effect): pungent

Doshas (constitutions): Balancing for kapha, may aggravate pitta in excess

Dose:  half teaspoon twice a day. Shilajit with Triphala has a strong taste, so it is easier if you drink it with fruit juice or honey

Administration: Oral

Storage: Store in dry and cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of children’s reach

Precautions: Not recommended for acute diarrhea or during pregnancy.
